A 95-year-old woman who sustained a head injury and broken hip after a grocery store employee struck her with a flatbed cart, settled her lawsuit for $1.075 million. The settlement is higher than any previously reported Illinois non-death personal injury settlement involving someone age 90 or older.
Rivera sustained a broken hip, which required orthopedic surgery, and a head injury upon hitting her head on the store floor, according to her attorneys. She now requires assistance from family and friends to do certain everyday tasks she was once able to do. Evidence Video was able to support the case by producing a Settlement Documentary that helped visualize both the incident, and the woman’s physical and emotional decline.
